Cinema,
not a
tech ad.

An Instagram campaign for the Google Flow Filmathon, a short-film contest for Indian storytellers that ends at IFFI Goa. Made for WIF India, reviewed by Google.

01 / The Objective

Get India's storytellers to make a short film in Google Flow, and enter it. The campaign had to explain the contest, the prizes, the dates, and the rules, and still feel like cinema.

It couldn't be

A software ad. Screenshots would make an AI filmmaking tool look like software.

Or

A fashion shoot. A glamour portrait with a laptop would make it look like a shoot.

It had to be

Cinema. Something a filmmaker would stop scrolling for.

02 / The Approach

Treat every post
like a film still.

One look, held across the whole campaign, so six posts read as one story. The type sits in the clear middle of the frame, so the picture still breathes.

A figure with a laptop in front of a screen of light in a forest
01

A screen of light

A wide, blank cinema screen standing in a real place. The film that hasn't been made yet.

02

People stay small

Storytellers in the frame, never the subject. The scene does the talking.

03

Grain, not gloss

It looks like film, so it feels like film. Nothing reads as a render.

A screenshot would make it software.
A portrait would make it a shoot.
We made it a film still.

03 / On Social

One campaign,
brought alive on Instagram.

Launch, promise, how to enter, prizes, dates, and a final checklist. Each post moves people one step closer to submitting. Swipe through them as they ran.
